Low-cost A.T. Sessions for Queer Fam

  • 301 Southeast Stephens Street Portland, OR, 97214 United States (map)

Part of my motivation to do somatic work is to have a kind of resourcing skill that I can offer back to queer community.

These days the times are mostly rough, the the bodies are often afraid, and I’d love to make my work available to those who could use the additional support for their resilience practices.

So I am going to start doing low-cost session days, designed to make somatic work accessible for the queer fam.

I’m doing a kind of pop-up trial run of this, this Saturday (5/23) from 1pm to 5:30pm:
- 40 minute sessions for $35
- Sign up here: https://calendly.com/d/ct2v-58b-hng/at-4-the-queers

For those who don’t know what my work is:
Contemporary Alexander Technique is a practical, kinesthetic, hands-on study of the human body’s innate intelligence, coordination, movement, embodied awareness, and patterns.

The work exists within a judgement-free and curiosity-forward paradigm that recognizes that our system is always responding brilliantly to a set of conditions.

A session often includes:

- chatting about what you are experiencing and how that shows up in your body/mind/etc
- a *collaborative exploration* through non-manipulative touch and conversation that:
- brings increased awareness of previously subconscious patterns
- inquires what conditions may be present or held onto from the past
- invites more presence, integrity, and support
- some embodied anatomical education to support the brain in catching up with the bod

Feel free to reach out with any questions!
