i also teach partner dancing

I’ve been dancing since I could walk, but fell headfirst into the world of partner dancing in 2004 when I was tricked into going to a Lindy Hop dance (thanks mom). Next I became truly obsessed with Blues, which eventually sparked my lifelong love of teaching in 2007. From there onwards the hunger only intensified and I pursued studies in Tango, West Coast Swing, Brazilian Zouk, and a dash of Kizomba.

Throughout the years of exploring the brilliance of each different style, my love of the creative act of fusing them together has been a central aspect of my dancing. So far I’ve been teaching Fusion dancing for 18 years, bringing a unique understanding of body mechanics, playful musicality, and the absolute joy of learning dance to festivals and local venues around the world.

  • "Few of my decisions have been as wise as taking dance lessons with Ally.  Her passion is incredibly infections. She balances encouragement and drive, knowing when to push to new territory, when to let something rest, or when to visit something easy to build confidence. This makes her not just a good teacher, but a good coach as well.”

  • "Ally combines philosophy, body mechanics, and dance technique in a way that leaves you walking away from their lessons with your brain spinning and body itching to try new things. Theirs is a truly holistic dance practice that gives dancers of any experience level something personal to chew on. I actually felt inspired to practice on my own after their lessons—something I continuously struggle with—because they reminded me that play and experimentation and being in my body are just as (if not more) important than 'looking good' in my movement."

  • "Ally is a skilled and engaging dance instructor with an excellent grasp of body mechanics. They have a friendly, approachable style that keeps their classes fun. I also know several dancers who have greatly improved their movement through their private instruction."
