tending to the conditions for
new possibilities
contemporary alexander technique & nervous system resourcing for renewed embodiment, mobility, & resilience
stress held in the body as tension or pain
survival strategies no longer serving us
paralysis in response to the state of the world
disconnection from our art, our bodies, human contact
somatic support in moving what feels stuck:
the foundation of my work
What becomes possible, for each of us and for the collective, when we no longer have to spend as much of ourselves surviving? When there's just enough awareness, integrity, ease, and resourcing in a system— what possibilities will unfold?
This inquiry is at the heart of my work, whether a session is focused on a specific tension pattern in the body or restoring grounding & embodiment to a nervous system strategy. Our work together will be an embodied research, collaboratively exploring what unfurls as we invite deeper sensations of support and presence.
My hypothesis is that the more resourced we become, the more capacity we have to reach—for a deeper home within ourselves, for more connected, enduring relationships, and for more sustainable, resilient community systems. Like intricate mycelial networks and redwood roots holding fast to each other underground, the health of the ecosystem and the health of the individuals are inseparable.
Looking forward to exploring with you,
Ally
what does a session look like?
1
-
We begin by discussing what you are experiencing, how it’s showing up in your body/mind/life, and what curiosities you have about other possibilities.
This is also a time for building familiarity and relational safety, an important condition for flexible nervous systems.
2
-
We go on a collaborative exploration of mapping current sensation and awakening new awareness, often with supportive subtle hands-on work (touch is consent-based and not required to benefit from a session).
This educative process also frequently includes embodied anatomical imagery, nervous system regulation practices, and guided movement.
3
-
Integration happens in two primary ways—intentional noticing and subconscious metabolization.
Towards the end of the session, we often harvest and refresh whatever pieces of our work you resonated with the most so that you can keep it easily in your attention as you move through your daily life. Your wildly intelligent system will do the rest.
anatomical imagery
Often the body can experience more access to ease when we update the mind on how systems of support live within our anatomy!
touch
This form of gentle somatic touch wakes up the nervous system to deep layers of awareness and new possibilities.
guided movement
The nervous system primarily registers change, and responds to signals from the body that it is safe. We use small movements to stimulate both.
sensory awareness
Bringing attention to more subtle sensations provides an enormous amount of information and grounds us in the present moment.
“Getting an Alexander Technique lesson with Ally is such a profound shift in my relationship with my body, every time. PDX, I recommend them to everyone who hopes to cultivate a curious, conscious relationship to their home (their body).
They have magic hands.”

who are you?
You are curious—about knowing yourself more deeply, about how you relate to the world, about what other embodied possibilities are available. You may be interested in more of something (resilience, presence, skill, ease) or less of something (tension, stuckness, patterns of relating to self or others). Either way, you are here more to resource than fix.
